Volunteer Opportunities:
.JPG) The volunteers' backgrounds are diverse, some coming from the health professions, others have experienced the loss of a loved one, and many simply want to provide comfort to a person in the final stage of life.
Several students have volunteered to work with our more mature volunteers in serving residents. Our young volunteers might enter into a grandparent-grandchild relationship with a patient, or simply serve as a bedside companion. No matter how each relationship evolves, it will have as its foundation a true caring and empathy.
Many people with special skills to contribute, are eager to be a part of our resident's lives. They are all volunteering their services, including:
• Licensed beauticians/Massage therapists
• People skilled in various crafts
• Live musicians to perform
• People who would be happy to spend time holding a hand or reading to our residents.
• Family pets are allowed to visit, but only after consultation with the Director

Description of Volunteer Responsibilities:
• Provide compassion, unconditional love, acceptance and care to our residents, by following the policies and procedures of the home.
• Interacting with the families and friends of our residents, providing them with support and comfort.
• Preparing light meals, at the patients request
• Assist in administering hands-on care and medications as needed/Assist with daily household tasks
• Reading, doing puzzles, sharing memories with the resident.
• There is an orientation to the Volunteer duties and a required "shadowing" of at least two shifts
Partnering is welcomed and encouraged, especially if we have two residents
